Little updates

Drugs in the Elementary-So last Friday one of my students brought marijuana to school.  I teach 4th grade.  What in the heck is a 9 year old doing with drugs.  He told the principal that he was hanging out with a few 6th grades from school and that they smoked it on school grounds.  He claimed that his was just crushed leaves, but when the principal and vice principal searched his stuff they found a bag of marijuana in his coat pocket.  He had gotten in two different fights before and after school earlier last week so he was in In-school-suspension when they confiscated his drugs.  I guess this is one of the disadvantages of working in harder area.  This whole week has been a tougher week to teach.  I think it's the weather with the other students, but for Sergio he's just making some really dumb choices.

Skyfall- My husband is in love with the James Bond movies.  He's already informed me that if our little one is a boy that our child will be a huge James Bond fan as well.  In fact there will be a battle about how to decorate the room: Sports or a James Bond theme.  We went to the Skyfall movie yesterday.  It was really good or at least I think it was.  My contacts started to fog up so I was having a hard time seeing.  I took out the contact that seemed the worst and cleaned it.  When I was trying to put it back in my eye, I dropped it.  I tried to find it, but the movie theater was dark and I couldn't really see.  The popcorn man, that was next to me, kept giving me the weirdest looks as I tried to feel around and find it on the ground.  After the movie Kelly helped me look for it, and he found it right away under my chair. Needless to say I couldn't see during most of the movie, and I had a huge headache at the end from trying to strain to see. Kelly told me that we are going to buy it, so I guess I'll see it then.  I would like to see what the villain looks like.  I could tell he had blonde hair, but not much else.

Baby Furniture- We own a crib.  It's a little weird and I find myself freaking out when I look at it.  There have been a couple of times when I've gone into the room and I found Kelly in the room just staring at the crib, so I know that he's a little nervous as well. :-)  Tom and Kelsey, Kelly's brother, were getting rid of their crib, changing table, and rocking chair so they gave it to us.  They bought a bed for their son, and they wanted to get the crib out quick, so we got it.  It looks good, but I don't want to start decorating until I know what it is.  It's either going to have a brown and blue or a brown and pink room according to the sex.  We won't find out what it is, though, for at least 4 more weeks.
